AKA Holy Basil, has traditionally been considered to be a tonic, and invigorating herb, useful for improving vitality. In Ayurvedic medicine it is traditionally used to reduce fevers and is valuable for respiratory infections, including colds, coughs, bronchitis, and pleurisy including asthma. Tulsi is thought to be heart healthy, with a reputation for reducing stress and is an adaptogenic, helping the body adapt to stresses. Tulsi is also been shown effective in helping to reduce blood sugar levels, lower blood pressure, strengthen immune system, protect against radiation, and inhibits sperm production. Tulsi is also has anticancer properties, anti-inflammatory properties, as well as pain-relieving properties.
