Echinacea herb are the above-ground parts of the herb that tend to contain more polysaccharides (substances known to trigger the activity of the immune system) while the roots have high concentrations of volatile oils (odorous compounds)
Aka the purple coneflower, dried echinacea is commonly used as a preventive measure to help support the immune system but can be helpful when you're down and out with that nasty virus going around. Dried echinacea has a potent ability to counter infection, especially viral and bacterial, and helps to aid the clearance of toxins from the body.
Echinacea herb is good alternative to use when Echinacea root is difficult to find (as often it is), the properties are similar and will yield similar results.
